Media Information

It’s a good idea to publicise your event as much as you can and so use the following suggestions to help prioritise what needs to be done.

> Marketing materials

We can email our logo to you and this can be used on all printed information (posters, fliers, tickets etc). Please email us on info@boweldisease.org.uk

All printed information must have our registered charity number (1117241) displayed and our logo shown correctly.

Please email us all material designs for approval before you go to print.

Word of mouth and social networking

Word of mouth is one of the best ways of letting people know about your event - tell your friends, ask them to tell their friends and talk about your fundraising to anyone willing to listen!

Use us!  If we have details of your event, we could promote you through the Boweldisease.org.uk Facebook and Twitter pages.

Use your own Facebook, You Tube or Twitter accounts to advertise your event.

Add a link from your JustGiving or Virgin Giving page to your Facebook page.  This will allow you to show your friends your fundraising progress.

> Local press and radio

Call your local papers and radio stations with details of your event and then follow it up with a press release and a good quality photo.   We can show you a sample press release to help you get started.  Don’t feel that they won’t be interested, they love and need human interest locally based stories to fill their column inches!

> London Press

We are fortunate in that we are able to promote some events through Metro Newspaper in London. Let us know about yours and we may be able to include your event.

> Paying us your money when your event is finished.

Once you have completed your fundraising, please send us your money as soon as possible.

Cheques are made payable to The Colorectal Research Fund. Please make sure you send your cheque with a cover note with your contact information and details of your fundraising.

If you prefer, you can pay your money directly into our bank account. Please contact us for our bank details.

Money donated via justgiving.com/crf will be transferred automatically from your account to our fundraising account.

Once you’ve completed your fundraising please feel free to send us any photos or videos you have and we might be able to feature you on our website and in our newsletter.
